Acoustic Guitar workshop review,UK:
"In one word: brilliant! In another: dazzling!
style fans, take note: "Instrumental Solo Guitar" is
fret board artistry of the highest caliber.
"These 12 self-penned, nigh-on perfect tracks showcase a
guitarist and composer at the very top of his game. The
compositional structure of the pieces is always astute
and underpinned by great melody and rhythmic variety. As
for the guitar playing itself, John's superb tone and
technique have been honed by decades of dedicated wood
shedding. Even at high speed (some of the tunes and
passages really do lick along), deft touch and solid
time-keeping never desert Sheehan's strings."
album has exactly the type of
guitar that I like to hear
with a mix of up-tempo and
slower tunes and a nice blend of
melodies and riffs. This is what
I like to listen to on a nice
Fall or Spring day when I'm
sitting outside under a shade
tree. I like being able to hear
the creaking of the guitar neck
and John's breathing during each
song. It makes it seem as though
he's playing right in my head!
Some of my favorites are "Hog
Farm," and "Jump Into the Fire."
Highly recommended.", Philip
